Originally pewter was made from a composite of lead and tin dating back to 1500 BC. Today, however, the raw materials consist of 95% tin with the balance made up of copper and antimony. The products are guaranteed lead-free and quite safe to be used for all kinds of food and drink.
One of the advantages of pewter is that it does not need regular polishing to maintain its gorgeous appearance; pewter does not tarnish like silver.
